Apprenticeships are a government-funded
initiative available in Northern Ireland to candidates under the age of 25. They are aimed at people who
want to develop their careers within their chosen industry. Those on the Apprenticeship scheme will be trained to level
2 standard in a work-based vocational
qualification (NVQ).
How can Scottish Meat Training help?
We offer on the job training under the Modern
Apprenticeships programme in the Meat
Industry.
We work with the Food and Drink Sector Skills, through whom the funding is obtained. We can provide
training advice and support, as well as carrying out the assessment and
verification of NVQs. On the first assessment candidates will be tested
for the Level 2 Award in Food Safety Qualification from Royal Society for
Promotion of Health.
Essential Skills and a Technical Certificate
also form part of the Apprenticeship. On completion a payment is made to the employer by our funder, Food and Drink Sector Skills.
What is the next step?
We recommend that you contact
